People in the 240sx crowd, who have already completed the 5-lug swap using 300zx parts, have been doing this swap for years at this point. Regarding the shim, it was only needed when using the STI rotors, however, it's unneeded with the stock 300zx rear rotor. Although the brake pad surface area is larger, the pistons are smaller from what I've read and the caliper does NOT perform as well as the stock 300zx rear caliper. La-Z-Link
